The London Marathon

The Cutty Sark Trust would like to thank our London Marathon runners for all their hard work on Sunday.

Our Marathon runners are Lucinda Nunn, Josh Doughty, Matthew Edwards, David Keenan and Daniel Dix.

Run for The Cutty Sark Trust

If you are a runner, why not support the most memorable part of the Marathon course and ask for sponsorship in aid of The Cutty Sark Trust.  The Trust has Golden Bond spaces for Marathon Runners.  Call 00208 858 2698 to find out more. All of our 2010 spaces for runners are now filled. We'd like to thank everyone who has shown an interest in taking part on behalf of Cutty Sark.

Cutty Sark has become one of the key London landmarks on the marathon route,  an inspirational sight. A chosen spot for spectators to support the runners as they pass around the ship just after the 6 mile mark.

From its relatively small beginnings in 1981 the London Marathon has become a national institution with the inaugural London Marathon proving an instant success. The event has continued to grow in size, stature and popularity with a capacity 46,500 accepted entrants each year. In all, a total of 711,260 have completed the race since its inception with 34,497 runners crossing the line in 2008.

Many thanks and congratulations to our London Marathon runners. Our runners have raised thousands of pounds for Cutty Sark and we are very grateful for their fundraising efforts.
