Making A Gift In Your Will To The Cutty Sark Trust

You can make your inheritance go further by making a gift to your chosen charity in your will. Charitable legacies are paid before tax is deducted, thereby reducing the total amount of tax paid on the estate.

Many people leave a percentage of their estate to a charity, rather than a fixed sum. This means that, however much your estate is ultimately worth, you are able to ensure your loved ones as well as your chosen charity benefit. By offering a percentage, you do not have to alter your will as your circumstances change.   We advise that you consult your solicitor on what is best for you.

Other options include leaving a residuary bequest (a proportion of your estate), a pecuniary legacy (a specific financial sum) or a specific gift (something of particular financial value).

For information about wills and legacies please email or call 020 8858 2698 to receive a copy of our legacy leaflet.   We would be happy to send a copy to solicitors to display.
